As part of a local engagement initiative in the Saint-Blaise district of Paris, I designed and facilitated a silkscreening workshop for young people, offering them the opportunity to discover the power of printmaking through hands-on learning and self-expression.

Over the course of an afternoon, participants were invited to create simple cut-out paper shapes, a first step toward understanding the fundamentals of stencil design. These cut-outs were then transformed into silkscreen-ready stencils. Using vibrant inks and silkscreening equipment, each participant printed their own unique design on paper, choosing a single color to personalize their creation.

This workshop was not only about teaching a technique; it was about empowering young people through art, making graphic creation accessible, tangible, and fun. Each child left with a printed work of their own, having experienced the creative process from start to finish.

By connecting manual craft, artistic exploration, and community engagement, the project aimed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and encourage creative independence among youth.
