Designing a Dialogue Between Art and Science

Together with designers Chloé Ceschin and Hugo Serraz, I co-created a visual identity and eight large-format A0 posters for the lecture series “Representing Nature, from Enlightenment to Positivism” organized by the Visual Didactics department at HEAR (Haute école des arts du Rhin).

Printed using two-color silkscreen techniques in the school’s printmaking studio, each poster visually translates the conference’s key themes: the historical and epistemological links between scientific knowledge, visual representation, and aesthetic practices from the 18th to the 19th century.

About the Conference Cycle

The “Representing Nature” seminar series has been hosted at the HEAR Auditorium since 2015 and is open to all students. It fosters historical visual literacy by exploring the intersection of art, science, and communication. The program is part of the broader Didactique Tangible research initiative, which investigates how visual tools can shape learning and interpretation.

These lectures resonate strongly with students in the Visual Communication department, encouraging them to critically reflect on how images are motivated, produced, distributed, and interpreted.
