I developed a series of illustrations for both a patient brochure and a caregiver guide dedicated to prostate cancer.

This printed material was designed to help reduce isolation among men over 50 affected by the disease, while also supporting their loved ones throughout the care journey.

The project was created in collaboration with a medical copywriter and the pharmaceutical company’s marketing team. Following the success of the “Questions de femmes” collection, this new edition extended the approach to male patients, bringing the same clarity, empathy, and accessibility to prostate cancer communication.

The visual direction relied on soft, reassuring color palettes and emotionally authentic scenes reflecting the lived reality of patients and their families. The goal was not only to inform, but to create identification and reassurance, making complex medical information feel human and approachable.

Prostate cancer, and particularly metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), raises many questions:

  • What is prostate cancer?

  • What does “metastatic” mean?

  • What is castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC)?

  • How is it managed?

  • What treatment options are available?

  • What are the potential side effects?

  • Who are the key healthcare contacts?

  • How does mCRPC impact daily life?

  • How can patients talk about it with loved ones?

  • Where can reliable information and patient associations be found?

Beyond medical explanations, the brochure and the guide addresses the emotional and relational dimensions of the disease. When cancer affects a loved one, it transforms lives, not only for the patient, but for partners, relatives, and caregivers.

The guide empowers caregivers to play a supportive role, physically and psychologically, while also offering practical advice to navigate everyday challenges.

By combining medical accuracy, empathetic storytelling, and inclusive illustration, this project reinforces how design can foster dialogue, reduce stigma, and support patients and families throughout complex oncology journeys.
