Since 2017, Mantes-la-Jolie has been part of the UNESCO Learning Cities network, committed to promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all residents.

Our work began with an in-depth exploration phase, meeting passionate local stakeholders, teachers, community leaders, cultural actors, whose testimonies shaped our understanding of the city’s educational ecosystem. From these conversations, we identified key themes and approaches to highlight the diversity of learning opportunities available.

To bring these initiatives to light, we designed a minimalist and intuitive website that maps Mantes-la-Jolie through the lens of learning. Each point on the map represents a local project, resource, or space dedicated to education, enabling users to explore the city’s commitment to lifelong learning in a visual, accessible way.

We also developed simple, clear animations to explain the indicators used to measure progress as a Learning City, ensuring both transparency and engagement.

This project combined editorial storytelling, UX/UI design, and motion graphics to create a digital platform that celebrates community-driven education. The site was brought to life thanks to the skillful development work of Charles Froment.
